About Me
My name is Matthew Tyre Boyd, and I am a Midway Honors Scholar through the Honors College at East Tennessee State University. I was born and raised in Kingsport, Tennessee, where I currently live today. I was a student of the Sullivan County school system for my K-12 education, and, in 2014, I graduated from Sullivan South High School. In the fall of 2014, I started attending Northeast State Community College, and, in May of 2016, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with an Associate of Science degree in University Parallel/Pre-Nursing- transfer to East Tennessee State University. I am currently studying for a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree through the College of Nursing at East Tennessee State University, where I plan to graduate from after the fall semester in 2018. I enjoy volunteering, and have worked with organizations like the Meals-on-Wheels program, Marsh Regional Blood Center, and the Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee. On a personal note, I attend Gray United Methodist Church, and place high value on my support system (e.g. family, instructors, mentors, etc.); also, in my spare time, I like to listen to music, watch sports, travel, and spend time with my family and friends. On a final note, I hope to make the Honors College community at East Tennessee State University even stronger than it already is, and, as always, GO BUCS!
